Bill and Ali travel to a mountain ranch to spend the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with a friend, Greg. They are joined by Ali's sister, Megan and Brad, her boyfriend. Greg has fled to the mountains to settle his late father's estate. His friends are concerned as he has stayed too long, being afraid to leave his sheltered solitude behind. The film suggests that honesty and effort can make a difference, and that life becomes clearer at the "Top of the World." "Daughters of Yemanja" Sini, arrives in Rio de Janeiro to meet her sister Sissi, who has been living in Brazil for three years. She finds out that her sister disappeared two months previously. To overcome despair, she hires a young black gardener Tiago to drive her around the enormous city in search of Sissi. A relationship develops between them, revealing their cultural differences and conflicts. When Sini is ready to give up hope, mysterious forces start to write her destiny. "Twisted Fear" (aka: Altered Love) A man is obsessed with a young girl who looks like his ex-wife. He relentlessly pursues her, despite the fact she has a boyfriend. Adding to his obsession, she is a medical student at the hospital he provides financing for. It ends with a dramatic twist. "To Die, To Sleep" A young girl’s tragic suicide brings together a wealthy teenager and a down and out musician for a weekend that will change both their lives forever. Their adventure draws them deep into the depths of a tortured past, an uncertain present, and a future which at any moment could turn deadly. "Pure" Addicted to the fast life, Port - a young Hollywood artist, constantly searches for something to make his life complete. His journey finally takes him to Mexico, where he begins a torrid love affair with a young painter, Alliah. In the end, Port realizes that the only satisfaction for a true artist is within his own heart, that the only love he needs is his own. "Naked Campus" A contemporary story concerning three young men pursuing their goals after college. Living in the working world after college is full of struggles and heart ships. Paul (Ben Gazzara), the son of a settler, refuses to abandon his land. Betty (Julie Christie), an Englishwoman, he met in a bar in Tangiers, is more pragmatic and persuades him to depart and begs him to acknowledge his illegitimate son Wanis (Patrick Bruel). "Beyond The Edge" The youth in Generation X, are described as unsure of their past, ignorant of their present and destined for future disaster.
